Summer at Oyster Bay-Jenny Hale (finally)

Summer At Oyster Bay by Jenny Hale
Overall rating: 4/5 stars
Cover: 5/5 stars
Plot: 5/5
Characters: 4/5

Let me start off by saying I thoroughly enjoy all of Hales books that I have read so far. She has a way of telling a story that makes it seem so realistic. Once you get into the story, which is usually at page one, you cannot put the book down. One of the things I love most about Summer at Oyster Bay, is that it is such a light read that you can take with you on a trip and enjoy. One problem I find I have with certain summer reads is that it seems like every story involves instant love, I praise this book for not being one of the traditional instant love stories that we get way to much of now days. I loved that this book really captured some of the heart of what it means to be born and raised in the south (like i was). The only issue I found with the story came up with the characters. I just could not get attached to the characters like I did with some of her others. Seeing how that is not a big deal in my eyes, I would recommend this book to anyone who has read her other books and enjoyed them, or anyone in search of a fun summer read whether you’re on vacation or staying home.

Back in the Saddle

Where do I start? Back in the Saddle is about your typical fall from fame egotistic turned humble story. It follows the MC Colt who comes home after the harsh reality of getting played on Wall Street to find his home up in the air and in his hands to fix. He wrestles with the idea of love, family, and religion. It is a very “Hallmark” type story. I enjoyed this story and it always had something big going on, however I felt like the writing was mediocre and that made the story drag on in some places. This to me was the only thing I found wrong with the book. I am thoroughly excited about continuing on with these characters in Grey’s Glen. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a easy read and a light/heartwarming read.
